MONTREAL, Sept. 6, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ – Air Transat has launched an evacuation operation to get all its travellers out of the Dominican Republic by sending a total of 10 aircraft: seven to Punta Cana, two to Puerto Plata and one to Samana. All aircraft should arrive in the Dominican Republic on the morning of September 6th, and passengers should be back in Canada in the afternoon or early evening.
The Company continues to closely monitor hurricane Irma.
Transat also implemented its hurricane policy for flights scheduled until September 11, 2017 for the following destinations:
- Dominican Republic (Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Samana, La Romana)
- Cuba (Varadero, Cayo Coco, Santa Clara, Holguin)
- Haiti (Port au Prince)
